Up until 2000 I had never given a dime to any political campaign and had actually voted for 3 Democrats. Being called an idiot and such by liberals on SI changed that. I'll never vote for another Democrat and have given enough to the Republicans that I get a Christmas Card from President and Mrs. Bush.

What the dems need is a new progressive agenda. Thats how FDR did it and Ronald Reagan from the right. Right now the left is so fractured and so much like the hard republican right in kicking out folks who are not true believers that they will ultimately find a way to lose to the republicans, simply because there are more of the latter and the latter always has more money. Watch the republicans coalesce around some center right platform and an out of iraq strategy while the dems commit suicide (again). Reps can win depite the Lindy Bill/true believers but dems cant afford geode. Mike
