knighty Tin,
There are two ways to look at buying precious metals. One is trading, the other is wealth preservation in a world of fiat. I do both, with mostly stocks, some physical for trading, vast majority physical precious metals for storing wealth.

Very different time frames for trading vs preservation and I should clarify that my comment on buying physical was referencing wealth preservation and long time frames, vs trading. Although as I have mentioned I would trade some, but not all, physical pm's if we had a hefty run in gold and silver.

Another interesting subject is what proportion trading to wealth preservation, but that depends a lot on one's current fiscal status.

Best Regards,
Roebear
