I have always felt that we would probably need to nudge the Administration to bring relative closure to the otherwise victorious campaign.

There are many issues that distract them from a purely political solution. We can't walk away easily as we have put the heart of our existence on the table, and that has taken some blows in the process. Besides a stronger America the stakes are, a liberal democracy for Iraq, membership in the global economy as a political interest, what ever alliance can be solidified with us as a stake holder, etc.

As a vigilant and skeptical citizen, I am also reminded of Madison's comment:

"If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy."
