No-one is WILLING to be defacto pro-Saddam..... I don't know, Saddam seemed to run the country better than we can. Maybe would should let him out of jail in time for the election. :)

There are some folks on the left and on the right who deserve to be demonized unfortunately. They might not be pro saddam per se but there is an anti american quality to their views that trancends just this admin. US can do no right. US is imperialist. US is for blood for oil. And on the other side, MSM crap, any dissent is treason, murtha is traitor. Cleland was clumsy not a hero. Kerry was not only not a hero but he was self promoting jerk. McCain should have been a better pilot. Those were things said by some on bills thread. Brumar is a sensible guy for the most part who has been captured by those types on the right.

It is perfectly appropriate to describe people who rhetorically defend Saddam as pro-Saddam. Ramsey Clark is defending Saddam literally and I've encountered a number of leftwingers on SI who have done so as well. Re. the "unpatriotic" issue, I also note that some leftwingers are honest enough to admit they desire an American defeat. If you'd like I might be able to find a post or two from variouis leftwingers saying that explicitly. I note that the folks who are honest to say such openly are on extremely good terms with those who don't go quite that far.
