The issue is not whether Saddam desired WMDs, or had used them in the past, but whether he actually was threat enough to invade. If anything, time has shown that Clinton's actions were right. Saddam's WMD programs were foiled without the huge cost of invasion and the great quagmire we now find ourselves in.

We cannot control the desire of tyrants to get WMDs, and certainly can't invade every country whose leaders want them. Else, we should be bombing North Korea at this very moment - they are much more of a WMD threat than Iraq ever was.
