Smartest kid, worst president, same difference.

Is that hyperbole?

There are millions and millions of kids, not to mention all the kids that are no longer kids and that would push that number into the billions.

There are only 43 US Presidents and Buchanan is generally acknowledged to be the worst. All you have to do is make the case that Bush is worse than Buchanan. If you are worser than the acknowledged worst, that would make you the worst.

But, of course that is not entirely fair to Bush. That is not a level playing field. The stakes are much bigger these days. Incompetence has far greater impact and shows up more quickly.

Terrific explanation, K (notice clever avoidance of any name at all)
I think that's why the REeves article of Ele's didn't feel too hyperbolic. He asked the question, and gave some reasons why it MIGHT be true, and he does compare him to Buchanan.
I didn't know much about Buchanan. Gosh, he was pretty bad!
