I agree. I am curious about your view on this post pertaining to iran and wahabi al quaeda. I am thinking our leaders are largely blind to this opportunty as we were to sino-soviet split until Nixon. Chinese supported revolution everywhere in asia yet we dealt with them strategically vis a vis the greater common danger of the USSR. The Cultural Rev ended and the chinese penchant for exporting revolution lessened somewhat and china began to engage its neighbors as well as seeing the benefits of capitalism and some economic freedom. Can we help the ayottalahs along this route? In some ways it seems very similar to late 60s-early 70s china.
