San Francisco is our finest city, as proven by the real estate prices. Some say the Big Apple, but Frisco is a much nicer place to live. They have always had libertine attitudes, but there are also many conservatives in San Francisco. And many gay conservatives. No city is perfect but most Americans, if they had their choice, would live in San Francisco. One of the great things about Frisco is you can hop on a BART train and it whisks you right to your airport terminal for about $5. If only more cities had systems like that. Makes a big difference. Parking is their only big problem.

Every time the leftist media brings up the upcoming execution and possible clemency for Stanley 'Tookie' Williams, they always preface his name with the words "Nobel Peace Prize Nominee." Basically anyone can nominate anyone for the prize, so I don't know why anyone with more than a couple of brain cells thinks that it matters whether the murderous thug was nominated. I've been wanting to do some research and find out who actually nominated the thug, but I haven't really had the time beyond a couple of Google searches. But when you search for Tookie and Nobel Peace Prize, you get the same old stuff because almost every article that mentions Tookie also mentions that he was nominated for the Nobel. At work they have CNN Headline News running 24x7 and I happened to catch it when they had the idiot who nominated Tookie. His name is Phil Gasper and he is a professor of philosophy at a university in California. In fact, he is the Chair, Department of Philosophy & Religion at the Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California. Who is Phil Gasper? I can Google as good as anyone else, so I'm not going to pretend that I'm going to be able to provide complete information about him. In fact, I hope that we can use this thread to look for and compile information about this moron. Phil Gasper has a Blog at traprockpeace.org. Every article in the Blog is about Tookie. Gasper reveals his strong opposition to the death penalty on his Blog. Could this be the real reason he nominated the mass murderer for a Nobel Peace Prize? Simply that he could use that worthless nomination as a tool to gain public sympathy (from the gullible) for Tookie? I think so. What more can we find out about Gasper? Well, he wrote an unbelievably callous and offense article in response to the death of President Ronald Reagan entitled "Reagan, Goodbye and Good Riddance." He is cited as a frequent contributor to Socialist Worker and the International Socialist Review. In fact, he is the editor of a new edition of the Communist Manifesto called "A Road Map to History's Most Important Political Document" which was published last month. Given that he is, apparently, a communist, it is not surprising at all that he would want to save a mass murderer. Communism and its mass murderer proponents are responsible for over 100 million murders throughout modern history. No wonder that Tookie's violent killings of 4 innocent people would not even register on Gasper's radar. He is cited also as a member of the Campaign to End the Death Penalty as well as International Socialist Organization and the Professors for Peace. He is also a frequent post on the University of California Berkeley "Stop the War" Yahoo Group. Speaking of Berkeley, Gasper was a presenter at the Uniting the Fight Against Bush - Bay Area Socialist Conference held at Berkeley in 2001. He has been a presenter at verious Socialist Conferences numerous times. So, this Gasper guy is a turd - a communist turd. And he is the one who has nominated the mass murdering thug Tookie Williams for a Nobel Peace Prize for the last 4 years. So, what is the nomination process for the Nobel Prize? According to the Nobel Peace Prize website there are NO qualifications to be nominated for the prize. Simply, a qualified nominator just has to put in your nomination. The nominator qualifiecations for the Peace Prize are at nobelprize.org. Here it is: The Nominators – Peace Right to submit proposals for the Nobel Peace Prize, based on the principle of competence and universality, shall by statute be enjoyed by: 1. Members of national assemblies and governments of states; 2. Members of international courts; 3. University rectors; professors of social sciences, history, philosophy, law and theology; directors of peace research institutes and foreign policy institutes; 4. Persons who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize; 5. Board members of organizations who have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize; 6. Active and former members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee; (proposals by members of the Committee to be submitted no later than at the first meeting of the Committee after February 1) and 7. Former advisers appointed by the Norwegian Nobel Institute. The Nobel Peace Prize may also be awarded to institutions and associations. Hell, even irreputable Professor of Ethnic Studies Ward Churchill could use his position to nominate anyone he wants to in order to promote his idiot leftist cause. This is precisely what it appears that Gasper has done. A nomination only means that some professor somewhere has filled out the paperwork and submitted it to the Nobel organization.
