We're talking about 2000 on, when Bush-Cheney came into power. It was their responsibility to study the CURRENT intel and detect who was conected with Al Qaida. Evidence released recently shows that Bush was told shortly after 9-11 that Iraq had no role in it whatsoever, and no role in Al Qaida. The only Al Qaida-Iraq rumors were discredited reports which Bush-Cheney knew were discredited, but they stated them as fact anyway. This is one big reason why Bush-Cheney will be impeached or forced to resign. Their lies cost this country greatly and our Founding Fathers set up this government specifically in order to be able to convict top leaders if they lie to the people or commit other high crimes. BTW: Besides Afghanistan the two counties most involved with Al Qaida are/were Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, both countries Bush sends huge weapons shipments to. Yemen is another, along with Somalia. Iran in there too. Bush has done nothing to com,bat any of these nations, only Iraq which had nothing to do with Al Qaida. Of course now Al Qaida has been attracted to Iraq and recruited many more young terrorists as a result of our occupation and Bush's infamous line "Bring 'em on!"
