It is impossible to rate all presidents in a numerical sequence especially those that served more than a century ago. It is especially difficult if you believe there is any truth in the George Santayana quote "History is a pack of lies about events that never happened told by people who weren't there." I do think it is possible to say that based on the sorry events of the last five years that Bush is rapidly securing a place among the worst ever. I can recall presidents back to Truman and, IMO, he is absolutely the worst in my living memory. No one else is even close.
