From a fundamental perspective Boeing is looking very good vis-a-vis Airbus. Rising fuel costs will give the 787 primacy in the sky over the knee jerk 350 response by Airbus. The two engine 777 could knock its 340 competition out of the running (we'll see with the Qantas order). And the recently announced 747 Advanced is sure to steal away some of the 380's market.
That said, your technical warning is well taken. I just won't hear it until Wednesday. ;o)

Is Singapore next?
The 'fundamental' issue here may be that Boeing has a winning market strategy. How does one chart that?

"People watch Singapore very closely; it's a model of experience with premium long-haul service," said analyst Richard Aboulafia at U.S.-based consultancy Teal Group. "Emirates just went with Boeing. If Singapore and Qantas follow, there's not going to be much left of Airbus's wide-body offering in five years except the A380." [a.k.a., the Bloated Airborne Welfare Queen]
