Sometimes it pays to be forgetful. Forgetfulness is not merely a force of inertia, as some people think. It is much rather an active capability to repress, something positive in the strongest sense.

If forgetfulness were not present, there could be no happiness, no cheerfulness, no hoping, no pride, no present, no progress, no wealth creation.

The key, of course, is to know when to forget and move forward.

Many people fail as investors/traders simply because their memory is too good.
