I never believed in laying rubber, but I scared myself at 125 mph on the Ohio turnpike on night. Mine had a Hurst shifter, and I loved it.

I thought the 442 was just my style. Not as flashy or sexy as a Corvette, but could do the job anyone asked of it.

After I got married, I never had it wound up enough to open the dual exhaust and I went through mufflers pretty fast just from moisture build up. Also, as you probably recall, that was the era of oil shortages. I traded it for an Opel. Got $600 in trade. The Opel met my family's needs for a while, but it was the worst car I ever had. The fuel lines were plastic and routinely sprang leaks that sprayed gas all over the engine.
