Jay,

Sorry for being butting in.

That might be a good development to a great deal of folks like me, the mainlanders, on the surface. But to ensure a peaceful reunification within a reasonable time in the future, we need exactly the opposite out of the next provincial office election.

Great holidays to you and yours, and all on this thread!

Arran

Back in Wuhan and waiting to finalize my job in a week or two. If you are going to pass by, please give me a ring at +86-139-8612-0848. Will be back in the states sometime in January.

Those people that are "color" blinded made the difference.

It could easily go the other way around if KMT's future performance can not measure up as those DDP's did.

KMT's Ma will force KMT's elected officials to be as good as Ma's clean political career. Or else. It in turn will force DDP people to change accordingly to compete for future political offices.

I enjoy the outcome and am glad there are many "color blind" Taiwanese-Chinese out there. They are proved to be more mature than ever. I bet those Hong Kongese can be as smart and mature too. But reading you political points, no way...:-(

In turn of China-Taiwan relationship, Taiwanese-Chinese just elected more "Republic of China bound" officials than those "Republic of China - Taiwan bound" officials. No change at all toward barbarian CCP controlled China. As long as CCP behave properly, Taiwanese-Chinese will make friends with all Chinese-mainlanders (CCP or not). :-)
