Bernstein says semi sector looks stretched

Bernstein believes that the overall semiconductor sector looks stretched at present, with the SOX now above 505. Firm recommends that investors reduce exposure to overweight semiconductor stocks, and advocate a bar-bell investment strategy. Firm rates NSM and TXN Mkt Perform, and believes while news flow this week will likely be directionally positive (TXN's mid-qtr update is Dec 7 and NSM reports Q2 results on Dec 8), this is already largely discounted into the stocks. Firm believes that owning companies that are relatively cheap or have low expectations (LLTC, INTC, ADI) or are fast growing (AMD) is the most sensible in this environment.
