If you look at carranzas post and see as i do a state set to crumble in a reasonably short period of time, one can understand the mullahs desire to get the bomb asap. It not only can be used to threaten, it can be used to deter the west and israel but more importantly they might be able to both evoke pride and intimidate their "young population" at the same time. If the story is true about imminent nukes, i think we have to think serously again about whether to take them out if they strart enriching again. And if we dont, the israelis may and the consequences of that for the region might be worse. Any idea on how the scenario plays out if the US preempts and that assumes that we could successfully do it and that we know where everything is...
