I've never gotten the right wingnut hatred of Cuba either. Sure, they're commies, but as you point out, so are the Chinese. We've done so much better engaging enemies than isolating them, it just doesn't make any sense.

I'm sure if we had hordes of Americans sprawled out like pale whales on their beaches, employing their prostitutes and imbibing their liquor and drugs, they'd come around in no time to capitalistic corruption. Heck, they might even buy American cars to replace all those '50's jobs they drive.

What is it exactly that is so repugnant and dangerous about Cuba, but not China?

For one thing.. Castro is constantly lamblasting the US as the source of all things vile in this world (sounds a bit like the crap you're spewing)..

China is a transitioning economy, which has opened up its markets and commenced what can only seem to be an march toward more openess and freedom that will be difficult to stop.. I would opine that China is more of a Fascist economy than a Communist. The next step will be to place pressure on them to encourage political reforms and to stop the war-mongering rhetoric against Taiwan so their can be the hopes of a peaceful reunification.

So let's reverse the question.. Is what Castro created for Cuba, better or worse, than Cuba under Batista?

Both Batista and Castro were (are) power hungry slimeballs. The only question, from the perspective of the Cuban people, is which would have been the lesser of two evils??

I'm not worried about Cuba being a threat. What I believe is that we should not conduct business with governments that PRONOUNCE themselves to be the SWORN ENEMIES of the United States.

Is the American cowgirl spreading her legs for China?

You sure don't seem to mind spreading them for one of Castro's cigars, now do you??

Have we sold out principles for money?

You would have to have to begin with.. Remember, I'M the one here arguing for isolating Castro ON PRINCIPLE. You're the one arguing that we should prostitute our principles of supporting liberty and democracy, running interference for a brutal and vicious dictator, merely so you can satisfy your obsession of self-loathing and to feed the international Anti-American "zeitgeist"..

Would that would make us a whore nation; there has to be deeper reasons, eh?

Who are YOU whoring out your principles to?
