Church and state must be kept separate. The main violators of this are on the religious right. What amounts to huge evangelical PAC's controlled by master conmen whose views are often extreme and dishonest, and who get treated with way too much respect simply because they can turn out tens of thousands of voters in multiple states. When you have the religious right actively campaigning for Bush-Cheney-DElay, and kicking people out of their churches for voting democrat, you know they deserve to have their tax exempt status taken away.

Jesse Jackson hasn't been a preacher since the 60's. He's not affiliated with any particular church that I've ever heard about. He is an ordained minister, but n ot a practicing one.

re: Anyway, like I said before, the answer is right in front of your face. Jesse Jackson is a black liberal and thus can get away with a lot of stuff that a white conservative isn't allowed to get away with. Or a black conservative for that matter ...

Eating your young, I see. I guess at times politics and race trump religion.

Not defending Jesse, he's just another religious radical out for as much publicity as he can get... just like the far more numerous white "conservative" religious radicals. Jesse has done more good, but that's at the margin.

And what do you mean about "getting away with"? All these religious nuts get away with more bizarre political comments than anyone else in public life. You just don't like Jesse because his comments are primarily (certainly not exclusively) liberal and support blacks. The racist Korean thing pops up again.
