I can pretty much tell what kind of movie Syriana is going to be by noticing that George Clooney is in it. In "Three Kings," all I remember is Clooney getting doused with milk from a tanker truck in the middle of the desert and not complaining about the smell. If that had happened to me, I'd probably run over to the Tigris and jump right in, turds and all.

He was pretty funny in "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou," and that's as far as I'll go.

Oh, he made a pretty good divorce lawyer too. I forget the name of that forgettable film.

I just came back from the Burbank studios of Warner Bros. where I saw a screening of the new thriller, Syriana

When the previews have the line about $20/gallon gasoline, you know Gaghan certainly doesn't understand economics. What would a barrel of oil have to cost to get gas that high? Certainly higher than the economic incentives to tap alternatives.
