I used intelius.com and was amazed with the results. It gets expensive though unless you bulk 'em. However, I typically need instant results when I want them so often I don't care about the cost. Easier and cheaper than calling my friends in law enforcement or private eyes I know. I'm careful about using investigators where something is not necessarily a question of criminal conduct. It's not illegal, and they know how far they can go, but I just think there is too much prying in our society. But I figure I am always prepared.
