We should care, because Muslim fanatics and those who create the environment around which their hate is given support may bring us something worse that this.attacked911.tripod.com Disagree, whine, and complain all you want. But, as far as the rubber meets the road is concerned, the President and Congress's policy to attack the terrorists where they live, has thus far kept America safe from further attack. If someone asked me 4 years ago, do you think we'll be able to get our act together in order to prevent another terrorist attack of similar proportion as 9/11? I would have answered "it's unlikely, we're just too open a society". However, it appears I underestimated the impact President Bush's policy to attack the terrorist where they reside would have. Thus far, it appears we're capable, with the right kind of policies and the right kind of determined leadership. Today, terror cells who consider attacking America are more worried about watching their back-sides, then planning an attack on our soil. In the face of a horrible attack by a heinous enemy who hates what America stands for, we've re-ignited the American economy, formed joint ventures and gone after the terrorists where they live thousands of miles from our shores, and captured or killed them by the thousands. We must remain vigilant; we must keep on the offensive and continue demonstrating to the world what radical Muslim fanatics are truly all about, that being a single minded fanaticism which places the civilized world in their cross-hairs. This is the real story of our time, a story which reminds us of our historical responsibility toward future generations of Americans and other civilized people of this planet. If America doesn't lead, who will? If America doesn't take the risk, who will? If America doesn't take on the challenges of our time and continue moving mankind toward a saner freer planet, who will? Staying in your safe den and typing on a keyboard, may make sense to you, but it hasn't made sense to the majority of Americans who voted for a President, Congress and foreign policy which is dramatically different than your own.
