Maybe...but you and I know there is a BIG difference between bringing in tons, and keeping it. Little things like employees, benefits, heat, lights, expenses, and of course, taxes take most of it. To say nothing of the cost of the oil rigs out in the ocean....drilling, building, upkeep and the expense for the employees...BIG expenses there.

I think if it were so easy in energy, and people make so much money, then everyone would be in the energy drilling and refining business. But that doesn't seem to be the way it is.

I'd really be interested to see any responsible figures as to what the percentage of profit the oil companies keep, versus the income before expenses. Plus I'd like to see those percentages against something like...for instance, grocery stores. Last numbers I saw for them was a profit of 1-2% after all expenses, and dealing with a high volume of business.
