A personal attack is out of line. Personal stuff is always out of line, when people start going in to our lives off SI- no matter who is doing it. Your post "If anyone on the left has any decency left," is personal too- a classic ad hominem, and also out of line. This thread is a trash heap now, I'm afraid. I can't see any point in reading any of the posts here.

Agreed. He can think whatever he wants about military spending but attacking servicemen over their service is ... I don't have a word for this. Will he have the class to apologize? I wouldn't bet on it.

You need to go to the gardening thead as you're so easily offended. I've already branded Michael a liar as he said Al Jazeera lies practically everyday and he can't name 30 lies from the last month. All he did was cut and paste from slanted rightwing sources without backing up his position...with FACTS. Get a clue and stop acting like Miss Manners. This is a politics thread and it's obvious that you can't take the heat. If people don't like being called war profiteers then they can defend themselves. If they can't defend themselves, they'll just slink away into the night.

Do you think the other mikey should apologize for Message 21849235 ? As near as I can tell, he was calling cnyndwllr a "traiter" there, which goes somewhat beyond anything Mr.Parson posted. Of course, Cummings did it all in a charmingly oblique way, if you dig that stuff. Then there's the whole bogus idea that doing anything less than professing eternal faith in whatever BS "victory" PR campaign W's handlers are pushing these days is unpatriotic, but that's another tired old story, not to mention another ridiculous W handler PR campaign theme.. Cummings can always go back to LindyBIll's toadyville and worship in peace.
