<How about a Dean-(Obama) team for 2008?

But I'm nuts....the thought Kerry should have picked Oprah as VP.

I have always felt that the Republicans (Rove) trashed dean because they felt that he would be a harder guy to defeat than Kerry if he was the Democratic candidate.
Bush didn't defeat Kerry.Kerry defeated himself by making many key mistakes which we have discussed here at length.

He was ripped by a unidirectional microphone.

Howard by a microphone,
Kerry by a purple heart,
Gore by the internet,
Clinton by a land deal where nothing was wrong.

The common thread here is not that there was some event that was so important it brought the campaigns down. The common thread is that the right wing news and amplification system was able to make it seem as if these were the important issues of the day. If that process isn't whipped then the next candidate will have something that should provide a moment's chuckle turn into the defining issue of the campaign.
