No RALPH, You yank the whole tooth and give up on it. The root canal is a way of dealing with an infected tooth by removing the root and the sealing it off. This works for some but their is a theory called " focal infection" not generally accepted by dentistry that dismisses the root canal proceedure as undesirable. This dates back to the introduction of this practice and was advocated by an early leader in the dental establishment. The thrust is that having cleaned out the interior of the tooth and sealing it you are preserving a dead entity. The main point is that it is actually impossible to disinfect the interior canals, there are so many microscopic pockets that once sealed you are then locking an infection in place. The body cannot fight the infection because its connection to the area has been severed. Therefore, the bacteria within the tooth can flourish and their reproduction and waste products are a toxic load causing excessive stresses on the whole body.

Since, I had that tooth pulled I no longer wake up feeling a hundred years old, my first steps of the day laboured and aching in every joint from the soles of my feet up. BTW, I am 48, 6' 1" and 190lbs. Not in great shape but far from gone.

There are new studies from within the dental world showing that indeed they have discovered that there are millions of microscopic canals within the interior of the tooth that would preclude being able to fully disinfect the cavity created by a root canal.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Ogi
