Thanks Dale for the post on Hillary. Have not followed her Pandering... (as Kay put it and now we have an article ) and was not aware about her supporting criminalizing the burning of the flag. Erroneously I had thought that the burning of the flag that Mr. Lucky brought up referred to actions back in the Viet Nam war days... Reminds me of what I had to learn to do to defuse actions and words... Once I would be in a RAGE.. at the word F... being used. A student in that era of student unrest told the French teacher to go F himself. Marty tried to have the student suspended and the board would not acquiesce... I wanted to lead a strike... and have the student suspended... Then three weeks after the incident Marty dropped dead of a heart attack. So, the point about the student became mute... Nothing was done. It took me some time to put things in a perspective where I did not react to language... Someone using swear words rather went in one ear and out the other.. It took work. I had to work on the Finger too.. When it was given by another driver... and still is. I just smile and wave... It took work. DEFUSING. Putting things in the perspective of life and death... for me. Therefore the burning of a symbol of our Country can hurt me like hell as I have had relatives die for that flag. However, I think as with all things, we can make a big fuss about it and ban it... but would it be better to just defuse the issue. This is a question. I do not have an answer... now.
