Hmmmm, that's why I always worked the embassy side of public affairs and not the war correspondent's beat. I have a lot of respect for those guys, especially the crew I knew who spent a lot of time in Bosnia in the very bad old days.

Give me dip license plates any day.

Wow. That's got to be a nasty situation. It reminds me of a very funny joke my daughter told me:

A mighty admiral of the British navy was facing a Spanish war galleon, and he said to his cabin boy, "Lad, bring me my red coat." One sailor asked another "Why does he ask for his red coat at a time like this?" The other answered "So that the men will not see him bleed."

After the battle, the Spanish ship gloriously defeated, the Admiral and his officers were sitting down to a meal below decks. Suddenly the cabin boy rushed downstairs, and said "Sir, a large fleet of Spanish ships has appeared, and we are surrounded."

"Lad," said the captain "fetch me my brown pants."

:-)
Just goes to show, there's a sartorial choice for every occasion.
