I guess I should clarify.
Amr had at least a 20k share short position in SNRS that was valued at around $250,000 dollars
Then factor in his circle of associates and subscribers.
Did that have any weight or influence or infiltration within the confines of SI?
No way. Never could happen. SI made a monastery look brothel-like.

Tough questions are better left unanswered and then blown off as absurd when pressed
Kind of like the five emails sent to SI in Jan 2000 that had asked why acct was suddenly suspended.
Easier to ignore, or at least take advantage of the unlimited time permitted when needed to attempt to construct something that might sound reasonable.

Because the internet is largely unregulated, there are very few restrictions or any means to police how information is filtered by a site.
Real world publication insiders and analysts are regulated as to what they can do with information prior to its release. Rules on how it's disseminated to the masses.
SI had hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of readers
Certainly was an opportunity, and probably still is.
