That's very sad.

Boards of Education are composed, as we all know, of ordinary citizens trying to do a civic duty.(exception is one I worked for in New Jersey where all the board members were primarily interested in receiving kick backs from contractors on the new school that was in the works)..

However, previously the BOE in this district made some very bad decisions with regard to a counselor who altered transcripts for colleges... He took kick backs from parents for doing so...

I replaced him the year he was fired as I had just retired and went back for a five month stint to get the seniors through their college applications..

Earlier this same person had altered Regents grades. However, the BOD had overlooked this as the person was of color and they were interested in integrating the district.

In this instance is looks as though they were trying to be kind again and allow those involved to pay everything back.. without pressing charges. The road to H is paved with good intentions. I feel sorry for the reputation of a wonderful school district....
