If we get another ice age, that will mean Florida beach front property will be a lot farther out, so stake your claim now. :=)

We've had a few mild winters in the PNW, which means nothing as far as I know.

Did the program say what kind of conditions led to an ice age? I've heard that cool-wet, not extreme cold, results in the ice build up.

I don't see why it would be any faster than the glaciers have receded. You don't need track shoes to get out of the way.

Our last several winters have been quite mild by our standards, several degrees above normal. So to get back the average we are due for a couple of colder then normal and that is exactly what has been going on for generations IMO.

But, I note that it has been getting a heck of a lot colder every winter up north and this winter is forecast to be no better

The problem with that is that weather is cyclical and local. During much of my childhood in PA during the 80s, there were relatively mild winters. In my parent's photo albums are pictures of snow drifts taller than cars - from 1969 or thereabouts - from the same county I grew up in. In 1994 and 1995 there were blizzards that shut down much of the East Coast. What does that mean? Is the planet having hot flashes? Of course not.

These folks are chicken littles that point to every cyclical weather spike as proof of their claims.
