I have a stack of old photos from the Chippewa branch of the family -- and almost none of them have any identification on the back to tell me who is who and what is what!

Very frustrating. Some very strong Indian faces, some with a lot of European, maybe French, maybe German, maybe Irish, who knows?

I got them from my great aunt.

And now I have my own photos with no ID, either.

That's high on my "to do" list -- just write something on the back of all my photos so anybody who is interested can know who it is and what it's about.

I was able to follow the Census trail of those people back to the Turtle Mountain reservation, and there it stops, maybe can get more information from BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) one of these days. But I never get "a round tuit."
