Btw, Rice is a friend of a mentor of mine, so tend to think she's doing the best she can do - I would tend to believe there is something beyond her control in the system that creates torture. It seems it's there for any country that goes to war - the question is, why? I read that 3% of the USA population are criminals - maybe some criminals have worked their way into the military and lack the intelligence to get the information they need without violence. Didn't a military report say that 25% of all military women were raped or something horrible like that while they are in the military?

I think torture takes on a psychosexual ambience for some people......probably in the same manner as rape. Those people are drawn to certain positions.....military, police, prison guards etc..........wherever a certain authority allows them moments of complete control.

I suspect people like Rumsfeld know that...and capitalize on it, looking the other way when they believe its happening.......so they can get what they want. I believe that most of our military is made up of good people but that there is this small precentage that are rogue and dangerous.
