Thanks Clappy, that is one of my favorites, also....

It does have a classic mood to it, doesn't it?

There was beautiful glow to the light that day.

Those people live in long houses that are up on stilts, They live on a string of islands in a large lake, Dak Lac...

They move through shallows from one rice field to another riding elephants. It is a way of life that will probably be long gone before too very long. The government wants to turn these folks into a tourism profit center...

And I am sad to say that the village where Yen and I built the first two wells has already gone that direction. The Government has a plan to wipe out the village and rebuilt an "Ethnic Village" tourist stop....

But...here is a positive story from that village. Yen and I stopped at a little stand where a minority woman was weaving by the side of the road, this is probably 20 miles from the Chicken Village. When Yen asked her where she lived, she said high in the hills above Chicken Village, Yen said that yes we knew the village very well, in fact we helped build them two wells...this girls eyes popped wide open and pointed at Yen "Yen Ngo?"..then at me "Scott Mantz?" Turns out that they drive there on a scooter to get clean water to haul to their home...she then gleefully pulled her little baby from under a blanket and said that they had a healthy baby because of us...

talk about being rewarded for all that work....wow.
