I know you're a big Jean Schmidt fan, but the 403-3 vote was against the stupid and embarrassing Duncan Hunter resolution which made a mockery out of serious debate about the war. It had nothing to do with John Murtha's serious and thoughtful proposal which is backed by many top generals at the Pentagon. This stunt was an insult to our democracy and congress itself. Congress represents the people and the rightwing basically dissed the people. As a result, expect Duncan Hunter and Jean Schmidt to be voted out of office next year.
