If you're convinced that in fact there was a massive governmental conspiracy behind the terror attacks of September 11th, 2001, how could you...why would you...desire, pin hopes upon, or otherwise deposit any faith in the prospects for an investigation by that very same government?

I do not pin my hopes on government. On that we can agree. There is no hope that they will properly investigate 9/11/01. But that does not mean that citizens should not perform their own investigations and try to come to some realization of what happened that awful day.

With each passing month I come to the full realization that our government is nothing more than a cheap sham, an illusion, an intrument of the rich and powerful that will stop at no ends to get their way in the world. Which is exactly why the government of the rich and powerful are meddling in a once-secular and relatively uninvolved in terrorism country like Iraq. Their meddling is stiring up a hornets nest of terrorism even by the CIA's own admission and in the process who knows where all that oil revenue is actually going? We have taken measures to ensure that most of Iraq's oil will come under American oil company's control even after the puppet government is established. Why should I have any confidence in these war mongering, war profiteering goons in government getting to the bottom of 9/11/01? I don't.

I do wonder how a Libertarian could support anything the U.S. government does anymore. It's so against the ideals of Libertarianism, stealing the wealth of nations by force of gun and bastardizing the free market for energy in the process, that I really wonder how Libertarians can find anything left to support in our government's most bizzare actions of late?!?

If the government actually did a detailed investigation into how and why a plane was able to take off from Washington, DC turn around over Ohio about the same time as the WTC towers were being struck by planes, and then head straight back towards DC and hit the Pentagon without any military resistance, then it would lessen my suspicions of conspiracy. Because, that is exactly what you would expect an honest body to do when confronted with an enormous security lapse, a transparent investigation in the hopes of preventing the same mistakes in the future. The fact that there has been no effort to perform such a common sense investigation, really makes you wonder what they hell they are doing in DC?!? Because they apparently are not interested in protecting their population.

Change your name back to LPS5. You made a valid point but I think the government still might have a few honest men in it. But not enough to vote a Congressional investigation.

What's the LP going to do for the 2008 elections? Still hope for the drug dealer and prostitute vote to get them over the top? I can't believe how stupid the LP leadership is. Clean up the platform and go for the middle America vote.
