Actually, Tenchy's argument reveals a way that the bible thumpers could be exposed as lying hypocrites. If a way were found to render a woman's eggs infertile as a means of birth control, so they could NEVER become fertilized and "conception" could not occur - the bible thumpers would STILL be against it!

Al, Plan B works be preventing ovulation.

From the Plan B website:

go2planb.com

Plan B is believed to act as an emergency contraceptive principally by preventing ovulation or fertilization (by altering tubal transport of sperm and/or ova). In addition, it may inhibit implantation by altering the endometrium. Plan B is not effective if a woman is pregnant. Plan B is a contraceptive and cannot terminate an established pregnancy.

Lots of hand-waving there. Seems like the egg may indeed get fertilized, thereby starting the whole cycle of life.

I will stack up the facts on my side to the theo-rhetoric on yours.

One FDA vote, and that's it. No answer to the question of misuse and overuse, no answer to the question of a follow-up visit to the physician, not even a sufficient answer as to why the birth-control pill isn't OTC even after years and years of being out on the market. Your only answer, "The FDA voted for it." Yeah, you're a real "expert."
