The key is to get the nation as a whole to recognize that the issue is not a local one but one that affects everybody, including anyone who uses Gulf of Mexico gas and oil and all the good folks in the midwest who depend on grain exports. It's a tough sell, but I'm banging the drums as loudly as I can everywhere I can.

Our next efforts are going to be grass roots, which is be most effective political weapon there is, more effective than cash. You're going to see demonstrations and rallies in DC emphasizing the national scope of the problem. A lot of hell is going to get raised in favor of coastal restoration.

I know it can be done if I can get a Hawaiian like you with absolutely no personal interest in the issue to listen. vbg
