I suppose you're talking about me.

I was talking about highly educated and very intelligent women.

Okay, I did have you in mind. So sue me.

First of all, I don't see opting to invade Iraq as pandering. It may reflect a lot of equally unattractive characteristics of the men in question but, if pandering is on the list, it's way down on the list.

I am troubled somehow by any suggestion that "pandering" to emotional symbolism as being on some level comparable to equalling unatractive characteristics of men who drummed up phony evidence to get us into war and putting our troops in a position with no way out.

So, what did you think about her flag burning stunt? Do you approve?

Her explanation is a little less troubling than Condoleeza Rice's explanation vis a vis our policy on torture.

But I understand. Flag burning is not a common thing. In fact it is rare. It occurs far less often than when we torture people. Flag burning is a big issue with veteran's groups. She is trying to prevent getting swiftboated.

Given the fact that no one has offered any decent explanation for it, who could possibly approve. But who would ever decide which candidate to support for president on the basis of one act, particularly one as far down the totem pole of importance as this one.
