I heard from misc sources that I cannot substantiate regarding MBS. There could be over $50 billion of these papers sitting around looking for buyers, buyers that are willing to pay the price.

Saxton suggested that Ameriquest (private) sold some at a loss. Now if take the usual suspects and add up what they have in their books, that estimate may not be far off.

In the mean time, big players like CFC and WM are jumping on the subprime bandwagon. That will only add to the supply of the MBS market.
