Well, I was available, but I did not serve. I would have been in the Marines, but for shooting my .44 magnum too many times without hearing protection. I'm not going to denigrate anyone's military service no matter whether it was voluntary or not. I do think Kerry did his country a severe disservice by his behavior after he got out of the Navy, and his candidacy just extended a long list of reasons why he should just go home and ski or windsurf -- whatever -- just so he doesn't mess up the country.
