I think the management at the very top is good, but there are some mid-level managers in the server division that goofed because they are too new to Intel and don't know what it means to build product to manufacture in high volume rather than for the lab.

I don't understand why they expect to have a months-long chipset shortage, but would agree with this:

"analysts say the decline shouldn't be construed as a sign that something is fundamentally wrong with the company. ... The numbers proved disappointing to investors with already high expectations, especially in light of recent positive news from Texas Instruments and National Semiconductor"
