Some Muslims assuredly have problems as well. Which fact does nothing to reduce the error made by you and many other Americans.

"The Muslims live in a world of totalitarian hatred for all people, including themselves." Certainly there is corruption in the religious authority, and in particular when melded with geopolitical interests. So, you find extreme views especially in regions where the political power is simultaneously meshed with religious authority, while at odds over real estate with its counter parts. Jihad in these instances takes on a totalitarian political interpretation that often seems as extreme as the Noah's Ark story. In fact, that is precisely the view of these extremists. They are being carried in a virtual ark of Gods covenant to destroy all that offend them; so they can rebuild the society of Earth according to their interpretation of God's will. Surely Bob, you realize that this extremist view is not representitive of the nearly 1.2 billion Muslims in the world who consider them selves moderates. The authentic view of 'jihad' is simply an inner struggle for good and a willingness to stand against corruption. It is most properly considered an inner struggle that each of us are engaged in as a matter of fact that goes along with the human condition. The corruption of this concept (as a call to arms) usually comes under the umbrella of all corruption...usually associated with politics, religion, social authority, and greed. It is a mistake to start a sentence with 'The Muslims...' and follow that with some broad sweeping statement of condemnation, IMO. It is a reference to a very diverse population of people who represent all kinds from psychotic to saintly. I could support a statement like yours more easily if it had started with 'Radical, Corrupt, or Extreme Islamists' ... or some other such qualifier. Have Peace (Ma Salama) Bob. Gem
