well, i don't have a beef with the share issue as such - as discussed yesterday, GSS has an impressive pipeline, and bringing it to account will require a lot of capital. what is irksome is how it was handled - the timing was unfortunate ( they should have waited for a higher share price ) and the announcement was lacking in every possible way. no hints as to the planned use of the money.
contrast this with the recent DEZ share issue, where it was made clear that the capital would be employed to enlarge annual production by 50%, plus it was timed to coincide with a price high in the stock. this is how it SHOULD be done.
GSS's management needs to regain the credibility that has gradually been lost after the failed IAG takeover attempt. in light of this the manner in which this capital raising was done is a bit mystifying.

actually, the market reaction to the share issue is not as negative as it looks - the stock is trading down, but the sellers appear to be mostly small traders judging from the sizes on downticks. big traders keep buying the dip as far as i can tell.
