Victory in Iraq would mean a strong US-friendly government voted in by a majority of the Islamic Shiites who want us out of there, plus the Sunnis who can't stand us. If this were about Kurdistan, sure, easy victory, but Sunnis and Shiites don't like Bush, don't like being puppets and probably like Iran more than the US these days.

That didn't have to be, by the way. Bush's poor management of the war created this situation. Plus, Bush's occupation put Iran in extremist Islamic hands.

Don't believe the Bushie spin machine. Iraq is still a monster of a mess. And nobody has any idea what it will be like in years to come. Anything could happen, including all-out civil war and chaos, whether we're there or not.
