No to me low tax rates are the progressive thing to do. High rates and high marginal brackets typically called Progressive by the left is anything but. It is a prescription for stagnation and a wasteful welfare state.
Yes Bush spent like a drunken sailor but at the time stimulation of the economy was more important than arguing endlessly over where to spend it. Now we are five years into bush and there is quite a recovery at hand. You need to sop up some of the excess liquidity thru spending cuts but also can tinker with the taxe cuts already in place if only to pay for the war in iraq. Basically we agree TP. I was just defining progressive in a differnt way than the democrats who expropriated the term for their confiscatory tax policy that doesnt work. Mike
