Thatcher may have helped along changes that reduced the importance of class in the UK, but she didn't specifically target classes, she just tried to increase oportunity. That she did. And the importance of those class distinctions are way down and are dying, although the titles remain. It used to be legislation had to be approved by the House of Lords. No more. Previously only hereditary nobility could serve in the House of Lords. No more. Essentially, Britain has become a unicameral democracy. The Brits have much to thank her for. Yup I think I should unban Solon. I guess you did already. What prompted his banning? You just need to look at his profile and back on this thread to find that out. Unfortunately, I think I'm as guilty in this as anyone if you look back at the earlier posts between he and I. I think I got things off on the wrong foot. I owe Solon an apology for that. He's actually a good guy.
