Ted, Did you know that now menarche or menstruation starts in 4th grade for many girls?

I've wondered what is causing our kids to mature even earlier than they used to. Some blame hormones used in agriculture. I know a friend of mine who is having his whole family go organic because of that belief.

They believe its the increased fat in kids's diets that is causing the change. This earlier puberty has been accompanied with an increase in kids getting adult onset diabetes and other diseases we normally associated with adults.

They are teaching elementary school teachers to be aware of signs of puberty by the second semester of 4th grade.
