Iran already has this little posturing mouse of a president that is preaching the "holocaust never happened" bit , and strengthening his position by calling for the complete destruction of Israel etc Everything Ahmedinijad is saying is completely normal in his mileu - destruction of Israel, holocaust denial, the lot. I haven't heard him quoted saying that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion are a historical document, but that would go with the territory too. The difference is not that he's saying it, but that he's saying it where it can be picked up by Western papers, and that they ARE picking it up. For many years the Western papers simply spiked this kind of utterance, aided by a kind of tacit agreement among the top politicos of Iran & most Arab states that they would talk nicely-nicely in English so they could sound moderate to the Western press. Ahmedinijad is either too simple or too hardcore radical to keep up the bargain, and says the same thing to the press as he says to his followers.
