I think it is more like: No matter how much someone may enjoy Willie Nelson's music, they should not seek his investment advice.

No, I understand your point perfectly and agree with much of what you say (except for artists necessarily arriving at truth any more than the rest of us; I think they have better tools for expressing their explorations, but some are just crazy as junebugs.)

Your post addresses a different point from mine- or at least another aspect, and perhaps I was unclear. It has nothing to do with Pinter's audacity or his knowledge or Bush's intellectual failings or Barbra's eloquence. All you said is absolutely valid.

It's the receiving end I was talking about. It's up to us to discriminate and take into consideration the context, the person, the perspective, the facts, before we accept any opinion as having authority. I wasn't espousing any particular political view at all, but trying to point out that Pinter lies on the very end of the political spectrum regarding this topic. I thought the post was made at a political thread I frequent (View From the Center) which is why I responded. You could visit us there since I feel I have overstayed my visit here, given I haven't mentioned China once.
(Schwartzenegger is a great example, by the way.)
