I doubt it, Rarebird.

Consumer spending still represents 2/3 of GDP, (as I pointed out....)

And, with savings actually *negative* in real terms now, I would now expect a surge from that source in the near term.

Also, rising rates are fast taking the steam out of the primary means consumers have used in recent years to bridge the savings gap: mortgage refis.
